St Johns - Hot, Hot, Hot!! Safari Success!
From the 12th - 19th of August 2009, Oxygene Cranleigh Escorted a fabulous trip to the Egyptian Red Sea. Cruising the reefs of St Johns and Fury Shoals on board the Miss Nouran, a good time was had by all. The Sea Serpent Fleet are one of the premier companies for dive trips in Egypt and they proved this once again last week with top notch service and fun times.

This was an opportunity for local customers of Oxygene Cranleigh to get some courses done during the week away. Accompanying the trip this time was Joe, manager of Oxygene Cranleigh, and dive guide in the Red Sea for 4 years. During the week he was kept busy with 3 PADI Advanced Courses, 4 PADI Enriched Air Courses and the Open Water sections of 2 PADI Rescue Diver Courses.

Congratulations to Rhodri, Richard, Mike, Steve, Steph and Laura, who all completed courses whilst away. What could be better than using some of the 20+ dives completed during the week to credit towards a course?

The weather was superb with a fresh northerly wind to take the edge off the daytime temperature of around 35 degrees. This was complimented by water temperatures of 30 degrees, warm enough to dive in just t-shirt and shorts.

The hard corals down in Southern Egypt are amongst some of the best in the world. Doing liveaboard in this part of the world gives one the opportunity to see dive sites not often seen by people diving from the daily boats. There are some great swim throughs along with a couple of stunning wall dives. Sharks were sighted along with many Spinner and Bottlenose Dolphins.

The last day was spent relaxing by the pool of the Marina Lodge. Stories were told and retold, and as the beer flowed all agreed that the week was a great success with all participants looking forward to returning for some more of the world class diving offered by the Egyptian Red Sea.
